Everything to know before booking.
Everyone knows that lash extensions add a tremendous amount of flair to your normal lash line that accentuates your lashes and far exceeds what mascara can do but what to do if you have an inability that prevents your from being able to obtain or maintain eyelash extensions? Enter: The lash lift.
Lash lifts are essentially a perm for your natural eyelashes. The process is done using curling tools and a lifting solution. The lash lifts are intended to curl your lashes from the base to the tip to accentuate your natural lashes and by curling them upward it automatically gives the illusion of elongating your lashes and provides a beautiful look without the need to use mascara or an eyelash curler on a daily basis which can save a lot of time in your daily makeup routine.
Who can perform a lash lift procedure?
First and most importantly you need to absolutely make sure that you choose a licensed esthetician to perform your Lash Lift treatment. This is extremely important because the technician will be using chemicals to perm your lashes directly next to your eye. How can you be sure your technician is licensed? Simply ask. If you are still not confident you can ask to see the actual license of your technician. Most licensed people proudly display their license in their studio so more times than not you will not need to ask to see the license but always make sure to ask the question prior to booking your lash lift appointment and then verify the license prior to your procedure.
How is the lash lift procedure performed?
First your technician will go through a thorough consultation and ask you a series of questions in order to obtain the information on the style your are looking to achieve. Based on your answers the technician will then choose the curl size and shape of your eyelashes.
Next your lash lift technician will cleanse your eye areas prior to placing the silicone rod onto your eyelids. Your natural lashes are then curled over and attached to the rod with an adhesive to set the lashes. Once the technician ensures the lashes are positioned correctly a lifting solution is applied to allow the lashes to mold around the curling rod and is followed by the setting lotion that set the shape of the eyelashes.
A lash tint can then be added to your lashes by adding a color treatment to the lashes to finish of your look.
The whole procedure takes approximately 45min - 1 hr to complete.
How long does a lash lift last?
The results of your lash lift typically last four to six weeks and dependent upon how quickly your eyelashes grow. In order to obtain optimal result your should refrain from using mascara and washing your eyelashes for 24-48 hours after your procedure has been completed.
How much does a lash lift cost?
Lash lifts can vary dramatically from one technician and salon to the next but typically the range is anywhere from $110-$175.
